Akshara's Column: Our bundle of joy has arrived!

I was extremely scared and nervous during the delivery, but all the pain was definitely worth undergoing, especially when I laid my eyes on my mew born son. I was so overjoyed and overwhelmed to see and hold this bundle of joy in my arms after nine months of waiting. I got extremely emotional and had tears of joy in my eyes. I just wanted Naitik to be with us and share the happiness. We are grateful to God for giving us a healthy baby. I have now become a mother and Naitik, a dad, this is the greatest feeling that anyone can experience.

I am glad that Naitik was able to come in time and he too got emotional on carrying the baby for the first time. Naitik is speechless everytime he looks at our baby, he cannot believe that he has finally become a father. He is overjoyed and wants to spend every minute with our new born son. He is so excited that he has already begun planning things for our son.

Of course, our families too, got very emotional after seeing my baby. Everyone wanted to be the first to carry the baby and were playfully arguing about who should get the first chance. To see the expressions of love and happiness on their faces while nani, ma, papa, gayatri ma, daddaji and the rest held the baby was extremely touching. All the family members got nostalgic and were thinking of Naitik and my childhood days. It was a special family moment that we will always cherish. Everyone felt that our son looked just like Naitik, but Naitik saw a little bit of both of us in him.
