Akshara's Column: Home is where the heart lies

After a lot of struggles, the entire family is delighted to move back to our old home. It is an extremely emotional moment for us, as we have anticipated it for long, but we were not sure if we would be able to go back. Many times we take things like our home for granted, and do not appreciate it. But we have realized the value of our home, and it's importance in our lives, as we have been away from it for so long.

A house becomes a home because their are so many memories attached to it. It is the place where we have spent many happy times. When we entered our old home, we all got nostalgic and we were reminiscing about all our earlier happy days spent here. It was so nice to be back home and I thought about those beautiful moments when I had first got married and came to this house. If this home had come to mean so much to me in such a short time, how much more did it mean for the others? It obviously meant even more to Naitik who has grown up here and the elders of the family who have spent most of their life here.

For Naitik too, it was an extremely joyous moment when we returned to our ancestral home as the entire family had to go through many emotional struggles. He is happy as after a lot of hardwork we have been able to come back to our original home. Naitik felt proud taking our elders, especially Daddaji back to their home, the one they helped build. He is also looking forward to create more memories in this home, with the baby arriving soon and he hopes that he can make the baby's childhood as memorable as his was, in this home.
