Why did you participate in Survivor?
Evelyn Sayal: When I first filled out the form to participate in Survivor India, it was just an impulsive thing that I did, because I saw some other people filling out the forms to participate. However when the auditions were declared, I was really upset on that day. But since I am a committed person I thought that I should go. I thought anyways I am not going to get selected, so I would be back in a while.
Raj Rani: I was at the gym where I teach aerobics and heard about this show, Survivor India. I've always wanted to participate in a show, but I had never done so. It is supposed to be based on fitness and I think I am pretty fit, so I filled out the form and participated this time. Also the venue for the auditions was close to where I work.
Sthitpragya Mohan: I thought that this was a great opportunity for me to test my body in an extreme condition. I like doing things that push me and are outside my comfort zone, this show will give me a chance to do so and it will also help me grow.
What are the preparations that you have made for the show?
Evelyn Sayal: As part of the preparation, I worked out a lot. I tried to build my endurance levels as I felt this would help me a lot on the island. I also practised meditation and watched the international series. I told myself not to react impulsively, so I was trying to brain wash myself for the time when I would be on the island.
Raj Rani: I teach aerobics at a gym and I keep fit all the time, there were no additional things that I did for the show. Also I had to do a lot of running around to get my passport done after I got selected for the show as we were going to an international destination, so all of my time was taken up with that and I had no time to make any special preparations.
Sthitpragya Mohan: I try and spend alot of time with nature and I run a couple of miles to keep fit. I am trying to use a diferent approach, like increasing my endurance by reducing my food intake. I try and also do a lot of reflecting so that I have clarity of thought.
What will you miss the most on the island?
Evelyn Sayal: I don't think there will be anything that I miss alot because I'm not materialistic. But I do think that I will miss food.
Raj Rani: I have a regular habit of sipping on chai (tea) and I think this will be the one thing that I will miss the most on the island.
Sthitpragya Mohan: I keep a journal to record all the daily happenings and my thoughts, I will definitely miss doing this on the island.
