What did you like most about Pyaar Mein Twist and your character Rekha?
Pyaar Mein Twist has an unconventional story with a humorous twist. Shooting for the show is a sheer pleasure because we are just laughing all the time.
Your character Rekha is very filmi, do you identify with her in any way?
I do identify a lot with my character Rekha because like her even I have had a protected upbringing. My family back home in Delhi is very similar to Rekha’s family and even I believe that a person should marry for love and not for money.
Rekha is very stylish. Did you contribute towards planning the look of your character?
I love dressing up and always make an effort to look good. I was involved in all the creative meetings to discuss Rekha’s look and shared my opinion with the team. Most of Rekha’s outfits that you will see in the show have been chosen by me.
Manish's character is inspired by Amol Palekar, does your character too bear resemblance to any actress?
I would describe Rekha as an amalgamation of all the divas on the big screen. She has a bit of Roshini in her too.
Rekha is completely opposite compared to Amol in terms of personality, do you believe that opposites attract in real life?
Yes opposites do attract and it is a good thing because balance is important. If the couple is too similar then there is no challenge. If they are different personality wise, only then they will put in an effort to understand each other.
What is the one quality about Amol that made you fall in love with him?
The quality that I got attracted to was his honesty and pure love for me.
Which genre do you enjoy more - comedy or serious roles and why?
I believe that comedy is a serious business. It is much tougher to make people laugh than it is to make people cry. So yes I enjoy the challenge that comedy offers.
How has the experience of working with the team of Pyaar Mein Twist been?
The entire team of Pyaar Mein Twist is brilliant. Our director Dharampal is experienced and very good at his job. I learnt a lot by just watching him at work. Working with Manish and Bharti is fun. I have worked with Bharti in Comedy Circus and I could never take my eyes off her whenever she was on stage. She is that good at comedy.
Why are Rekha and Amol a couple to watch out for?
You guys should look out for Rekha and Amole because of their sizzling chemistry and because they will leave you in splits.
