Our source from Diya Aur Baati Hum tells us that, “Sooraj had a fair chance of winning the coveted title. But the semi-final round changed the whole scenario. When he was asked to cook with chicken as the main ingredient, Sooraj refused to go against his principles as he is a pure vegetarian and decided to walk out of the competition. His decision has got a mixed reaction where a certain group of people have turned against him while a few of them support and respect his decision. Now, Sooraj’s chance to stay in the competition completely depends on the audiences voting, a public poll will decide if he should be allowed to cook a vegetarian dish unlike others”.

Sandhya, who has always stood by Sooraj, challenges the judges' decision and requests them to reconsider Sooraj’s participation by allowing him to cook a vegetarian dish. She says, “I respect Soorajji’s decision as he does not wish to go against his principles just for winning a title.
