Truth prevails, and it has been a successful journey for Satyamev Jayate so far. Highlighting social evils within our society, Satyamev Jayate is making sincere efforts to spread awareness on unspoken issues. On Satyamev Jayate, we've seen many victims and experts who gathered the courage to speak up against system. Many such attempts have been applauded and become a source of inspiration for millions who watch the show. Let's revisit a few heart touching stories of such fearless and determined individuals.
The last episode of Satyamev Jayate put accross the Idea of India which our leaders had envisgaed. Aamir explained how some people have walked on the path mentioned by our constitution and have helped the nation. One of such guests was Sunitha Krishnan. She is the co-founder of Prajwala, which is an organisation that rescues women and girls from the sex trade. She explained how she has to battle the prostitution mafia as well as social prejudices during such missions.
She said that, "Of the two, the latter is harder to fight. All that the rescued women want is a chance for rehabilitation and an opportunity for their children to lead a better life. But so-called civilized people don’t want to accept them even as colleagues, leave alone neighbours. Ironically, the people who patronize and encourage the sex trade are well respected and accepted." Sunitha Krishnan is one among those few citizens of India who follow the Preamble of India and offer respect to the country through their deeds.
