My week began normally. After meeting with Dadi’s friend, I was all set to go for a pajama party with my friends and was very excited about it. However, just as I was about to leave, Badi ma stopped me and said that it was too late in the night for me to be going out. I was very angry with everyone, so I decided that the sooner I leave home, the better it is for all involved. So I wrote a letter telling the Kashyap family the truth about Ishaan and my relationship and left it on the dining table. I was prepared to leave early next day so that I wouldn’t have to face anyone. But when I woke up the next morning I found the whole family in a tensed as Badi ma was down with high fever. This came as a huge shock to me and didn’t seem like the best time to leave home, so I decided to stay back.
It hurt me a lot to see how sad everyone was. I volunteered to take care of Badi ma and spend the night with het in case she needed something in the middle of the night. Everybody including Ishaan was a little skeptical about allowing me to take care of Badi ma as they did not trust I was up to the job, but they all agreed when Badi ma consented to my request.
It was great spending time with Badi ma. We bonded like mother and daughter. I massaged her legs when she was in pain. We spoke about my mother and I became emotional like I do every time I speak about my mother. Badi ma consoled me and said that she was like my mother. I told her everything I knew about my mother and mentioned some moments that I remember of her. She had written two letters for me before she died: one for my 18th birthday and the other on the day of my marriage.
Badi ma then said that my mother loved me a lot. I admitted to her that I would get jealous of my friends who would speak about their mothers. I asked Badi ma whether I’d be a different person if I had a mother to which she replied yes.
I really enjoyed the time I spent with Badi ma. She is getting better now and we are all happy to see her recover. Honestly, I don’t know what to expect from the Kashyap family. I want to leave, but there is something about them that wants me to stay. But till things get back to normal, I will have to defer my plans.
