Naitikji was amused to see me using salt for washing the clothes. He said that I had heard about using rice for starching clothes, but what is it with salt? So I told him that sometimes new clothes tend to lose their colour during the first wash. So before washing clothes, add some salt in the water and soak clothes in it for a while. You will notice less amount of colour fading from the garment. Plus, it also helps retain the existing color of the fabric.
Besides washing clothes, salt can be used to enhance various food items. You can use it for making pooris too. While preparing the dough for making pooris, add some salt in it. Salt in the dough will not only give taste to the pooris but also while deep frying it, the pooris soak less oil. Thus making it less oily and healthy to eat.
