The first time you discover that you are expecting, can be both emotional and exciting. Being a mother is the best feeling one can have. The finest example in recent times is our beloved Gopi from Saath Nibhana Saathiya, Anjali from Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? and Meenakshi from Diya Aur Baati Hum. Not only the to-be mothers but the whole family starts taking special care of the unborn baby. While Kokila and Bhabhoo are leaving no stone unturned to take care of Gopi and Meenakshi, Anjali’s excitement is beyond measure.
But with motherhood, comes new responsibility and sometimes it can also be worrisome at the initial stage. Special care need to be taken during the first trimester.

1.The first step is to choose your gynecologist wisely and go for your pre-natal check ups consistently. Regular tests prescribed by the doctor must be followed.
2.First trimester is a period of major development for the foetus, so always eat healthy and keep yourself hydrated. Drink plenty of water, fresh fruit juices and veggies that are high on water content.

4.Stay away from cigarette smoke and alcohol as it may lead to miscarriage and might also have a bad impact on the foetus.
5.Cut down those caffeine intakes as it aggravates the possibility of miscarriage. Colas and sodas are also a strict no-no during pregnancy.
